intro
ricordi berlin has announced a brand new program, ricordilab, that will provide the opportunity for up to five emerging composers to participate in a three-year collaboration with our publishing house. ricordi berlin will publish selected works and provide international promotion for successful applicants and will also support the laureates with expertise in the music industry.
about us
ricordi berlin is the german branch of the italian music publisher casa ricordi. since 2007 ricordi has been part of universal music publishing classical (umpc), the leader in classical music publishing. in germany, ricordi berlin represents more than 1.900 composers, including claude debussy, györgy kurtág, giacomo puccini, maurice ravel and giuseppe verdi in its catalogues. ricordi berlin’s own catalogue encompasses, among others, vinko globokar, heiner goebbels, olga neuwirth, younghi pagh-paan and enno poppe.
our goal
we are looking for composers from various musical backgrounds to enrich ricordi berlin’s roster.
advisory board
an advisory board of internationally renowned experts consisting of kristjan järvi (conductor), liza lim (composer), gillian moore (director of music, southbank centre) and dr. clemens trautmann (president, deutsche grammophon) will consult us. please refrain from contacting members of the advisory board.

conditions

  • applicants must be born after may 31, 1976
  • applicants must submit scores and recordings of 4 works which have been performed or commissioned by at least one professional ensemble/orchestra (a recording of each work is obligatory). scores and parts need to be available digitally. the works must be for the following instrumentation:
    • 2 works for ensemble (6–12 musicians)
    • 1 work for large ensemble (more than 12 musicians)
    • 1 work for orchestra
  • composers who are already published by universal music publishing classical are not eligible
